IMPORTANT pour le semis des laitues : La laitue est une espèce que l'on appelle thermo-sensible, co mme la chicorée et la mâche. Au-delà d'une température donnée qui dépend des variétés et des lots de semences, la graine perd toute sa factulté germinative. Même ensuite à une plus basse température, elle ne germera plus. Il faut donc éviter toute température au-delà de 25°C. L'optimum est à 20°C. Assurer donc une bonne climatisation et faire très attention au soleil dans la journée.
